Computers today have become truly personal and PC’s are common in every average household, and with almost every computer, you will find a printer. Most people can benefit from a color printer and the need for accessories such as ink and color printer paper also arises. In recent times laser printers have flooded the market and have to a large extent phased out the slower variants of printers, i.e., inkjet printers.

Many laser printer owners wonder whether or not the quality of the printer paper they use affects the final outcome. In truth, the quality of paper definitely affects the final outcome. Though many of the uncoated papers available in the market, such as copy paper, inkjet paper, or other multi-use paper products function sufficiently well in laser printers, only laser-compatible paper is recommended for long-term reliability. The paper comes in a variety of different colors and weights, depending on how tough you need the finished product to be. Expect a document printed on card stock to take longer, due to it being thicker than traditional color printer paper.

Special color photo laser paper should be used for printing photographs. One should always avoid using normal photo paper to print on a laser printer. Although a few alternatives may exist and give acceptable results, one should always prefer the use of good quality color laser compatible paper for getting best results. The normal glossy paper suitable for printing photographs in an inkjet paper is not compatible for laser printing as it is unable to withstand the high temperature and its plastic coating and easily melts.

Many brands of printer paper today offer a high-grade color variant for quality output and reliable performance. Many suppliers also provide bright and high-impact laser paper that is slightly heavier in weight and has a more luxurious feel. You can easily find all common paper sizes as well as harder-to-find paper sizes such A3 paper, A4 papers, “tabloid bleed” 11.7 x 17.7, “full bleed” 12 x 18½, and various others.
